*Revised* Draft Public Spaces Bylaw

I’ve heard how important it is to have public spaces that residents and visitors can enjoy and use regularly.

An important topic is coming up for discussion soon on Monday, February 10th - the *revised* Draft Public Spaces Bylaw.

This bylaw combines three existing bylaws into one that guides how we use and interact with our public spaces - such as parks, transit stations, and sidewalks. This makes it crucial for Edmontonians to share their thoughts and perspectives.

  • The Public Spaces Bylaw covers a wide range of issues, including (but not limited to):

    • Bikes/e-bikes/e-scooters

    • Busking

    • Fireworks

    • Life jackets

    • Littering

    • Loitering in transit spaces

    • Off-leash requirements

    • Panhandling

    • Public gatherings and amplification

    • Signage

    • Smoking

    • Street vending

    • Temporary shelters (encampments)

    • Vandalism

    • Visible drug use

I encourage you to ask me any questions you have related to this proposed bylaw and share your thoughts with me.

Members of the public can also register to speak online or in person at the February 10th meeting. Feedback can also be submitted in writing or online.
